10th Annual Black History Exhibition - Artist Reception

February 2016 marks ten years for the Arts Center in the historic Federal Building in Uptown Greenwood. From the time of its opening to the community, The Arts Center began a tradition of celebrating the art of African American contemporaries each February in honor of Black History month. This year’s exhibitions blend together works by two veteran SC artists who have formerly exhibited in the gallery and two newly-presented artists from NC and CA. The main gallery features a "Figures" series by Joseph A. Pearson of Asheville, NC. The Special Exhibitions Gallery features a "Carolina Blend" of works by SC artists Alvin Staley and Leo Twiggs and the Gallery Hall features works from an "In the Hood" and "Kinfolk" series by Willie Little of Oakland, CA. The current exhibitions will remain on display until March 4th, 2016.

A special artist reception and kick-off for the 10-year celebration will take place on Friday, February 26th @ 5:00-7:00 pm with live entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar provided.
