As the flowers begin to bloom and new baby goats arrive at Emerald Farm, plans are being made to celebrate the spring season with a number of upcoming activities.

For those doing some spring cleaning, Emerald Farm will host a Barnyard Garage Sale on Saturday, March 28.  Table rental fees will be $10.  On May 2, Emerald Farm will host its annual MayDay homecrafters Beer and Wine Festival, featuring home grown beer and wine products.  For the latest details on these events and more, refer to the coming events page on Emerald Farm’s website, www.emeraldfarm.com

Get hands-on experience at the working dairy farms, or take an educational walk through the herb garden. The Soap Factory and Gift Shop offers all natural Saanen goat milksoap and body products. The Natural Food Store offers healthy snacks along with cheese, beer, and wine making supplies. The Train and Hobby Shop continues to carry various land, sea, and air supplies; custom order is available.  Train enthusiasts will enjoy the upper level of the store, with the trains running in the Model Railroad clubhouse.

Kathryn Zahn, owner of Emerald Farm, noted “Emerald Farm truly is a family oriented space.  There are so many things for kids of all ages to take part in here.  With strong group tour participation and over 20,000 visitors annually, we are proud to be a partner in tourism here in Greenwood and are proud to help boost the economic impact through these travel groups.”

Located on the edge of the city of Greenwood, South Carolina, Emerald Farm is situated on about 50 acres of beautiful rolling pastures dotted with large sheltering oak trees and surrounded by forest land. Goats, lamas, rabbits, and peacocks are just a few of the animals to be seen at the farm.

Visits are welcome Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Guided Educational Tours are welcome by appointment, and the facility is available for rentals for birthday parties, weddings, and family reunions. Children can ride “The Emerald Farm Express” around the farm as well.
